I have known Dan for 20ish years and worked with him for 7 of those. Personally, Dan is a fantastic family man. He fully supports his wife Michelle and kids Dez and Faith in all their happenings. He is truly involved in the community with helping our seniors and multiple centers and outreaches to educating our youth during events like Business Week.
As for the work, one of Dan’s best qualities is that he is extremely fair and is extremely well versed in the law. If there is any knowledge ANYONE needs they all go to Dan for those big questions. He knows RCW and WAC well and how they apply in our office to make sure everyone’s burden is fair and not overpaying. He’s one of our State Assessor’s who’s spearheaded the Senior changes that have recently hit our state. Which will allow more of our seniors to enter and keep their taxes at manageable frozen rates. He’s always working on new legislation with our State’s Assessors, Senators, and Representatives that will benefit our community. Personal Property is the next one on his list to try and get passed. If this passes it will tremendously help our small business owners “More to come soon on this so keep your eyes open”. These are NOT small things Dan is working on, he is an absolute rock of an Assessor for not just our County but for our State. This shows in the Assessor endorsements you will see on his election page.
As a Boss, Dan has always been fair and giving to ALL his employees. Things happen in people’s lives and Dan is ALWAYS sympathetic to their needs. Time and Schedule requests are almost never denied. Schedule changes are always considered as long as they’re within contract parameters and fair for the taxpayers. I’ve witnessed him and his caring to go above and beyond what most bosses I’ve experienced have or will do. I really appreciate this about Dan and am so happy to be working for him.
He’s in the office nearly every day and when he’s not, he’s at a supporting community event. He works very hard for our taxpayers to make sure they are not overburdened. Our state ratio reports have arrived and Grays Harbor County for assessment percentages are phenomenal for accuracy. This is due to his oversight of the employees and giving them their credit in their accomplishments.
I know if he is elected that he will continue to support our citizens of Grays Harbor, our Employees and represent Grays Harbor County at the State level to make sure we are protected and heard.
